As a perfectionist, the current situation is very much not within my control. I am not the perfectionist I used to be.
Isn't this irksome, or do I just chill a bit, haha?
Everyday I work, sometimes it's up to 16 hours with pockets of break in between. There are days which are just too frenzy. What can you expect WFH, working to help clients battle COVID-19 crisis. I grasp for some familiarity, of course. Rarely things go smoothly, it seems to be that kind of pattern. But when they do, these occasions are celebrated. It's a victory - for the clients' and my self-preservation.
In this photo, it shows my week that was. Daily... being pulled at every direction. Sometimes, I am muscled out. Just trying to catch up; staying positive. That sums it up nicely. I want to perform to my best effort. Everyday!
Everything and everyday is COVID-19 related, it is an unnerving reality. My work entails trying to solve a client’s claim; liaising with hospitals, doctors, administrative systems, etc. I still can’t handle the throes of loss when an employer calls to report of an employee passing away, or in hospital because of COVID-19. Some bosses truly care.
At times, I believe I am a bearer of hope, the go-to person in moments of anguish. I deliver solutions when many can only offer condolences and offerings. These are expectation of families and clients that are affected. I am encouraged while doing my best.
We strive for the best outcomes in spite of working within these restrictions. It has been a common scenario for many of us. Trying to juggle; coupling speed and accuracy, while maintaining a certain poise is how my services are delivered.
The perfectionist's villain is a loud talker in my head, pounding so hard as if I am bashing myself up. I guess this is a lament many of us share. Let’s soldier on with our best effort.
God bless us all and stay safe my friends.
With love,
Jas
